The Punt Acca: Harry Wilson's three all-weather horse racing tips on Friday
Three horses to include in a treble on Friday . . .
Inaam (3.50 Lingfield)
Has dropped 18lb in the ratings than when last successful in January 2021 and tackles claiming company once again, having finished a good third at Newcastle last month. Inaam seemed to find the stiff seven furlongs too much, travelling supremely well before not being able to finish with his usual zest. His best run before that had come over this course and distance, where he finished a half-length second in a Class 5 handicap off a mark of 63 (13lb higher than he is now). He would be giving weight away to the majority of his rivals if this was a handicap and the wide draw won't hinder him as he is usually held up. The return to this course and the drop in trip looks the ideal scenario for him to get his head back in front.
Politics (4.20 Lingfield)
The combination of a step up in trip and a first start on Polytrack saw Politics produce a power-packed finish to beat six rivals over this course and distance last month. His last two starts since haven't been bad but he was too close to the pace when fifth at Wolverhampton and probably found the rise into Class 3 company more against him than the drop in trip last time at Southwell. Back down into a Class 5, Politics should continue his progress and his turn of foot over this trip is a major weapon at this level.
Bobba Tee (4.30 Newcastle)
Hasn't won since November 2021 but showed that he was still capable with a half-length third at this track last month when fitted with first-time cheekpieces. The headgear may have yielded some extra improvement, but the main reason for that effort was the return to this grade (specifically at Newcastle). His record over this course and distance when tackling Class 6 company is superb, producing form figures of 123 and never being beaten more than half a length. The win was achieved off a mark 6lb higher than he has here, and if the first-time headgear did help last time, he is tried in blinkers this time around and that can only be a bonus. Could go well at a price that is too big.
