The Punt Acca: Richard Russell's three horse racing tips at Market Rasen on Wednesday

Three horses to include in a multiple on Wednesday . . .

What A Johnny (1.50 Market Rasen)

Skyjack Hijack is chasing a six-timer and is bound to be popular, but this represents by far his stiffest task to date and it’s Olly Murphy’s six-year-old who can come out on top. The gelding hit the line strongly in two runs over 2m4f at Perth in the spring, winning the first before finishing a decent second next time, on both occasions looking like a step up in trip would unlock more. He shaped okay on his return from wind surgery and a 171-day break at Carlisle earlier this month, just running out of puff having initially been outpaced before rallying, and this move to 2m7f should be right up his street.

Marsh Wren (2.25 Market Rasen)

All sorts of different formlines are brought together for this fascinating running of the Bud Booth, and with Sacre Coeur in the field there should be a decent gallop on too. Early favourite Fantastic Lady won this two years ago, but her stable’s a little in and out and she has bigger targets in the spring. A bigger threat might be Cheltenham heroine Sine Nomine, who shouldn’t be underestimated stepping out of hunter chase company, but Marsh Wren’s festival third to Limerick Lace makes her just about the pick at these weights and she’s won off breaks of 77, 235 and 265 days before. She should be ready for this return and can continue her progression for the upwardly mobile Stuart Edmunds.

Duke Of Moravia (3.00 Market Rasen)

Henry Daly’s slab of a beast got off the mark in first-time cheekpieces at Wincanton in April, narrowly scoring over hurdles despite being built for fences. Given that, his first go at chasing had to go down as a disappointment, when pulled up at Worcester last month, but he was minus the cheekpieces and drifted in the market, the betting correctly predicting he’d blow up. His yard is in much better form now and, with the cheekpieces back on, this strapping sort can bounce right back.
