The Punt Acca: Richard Russell's three horse racing tips at Catterick, Musselburgh and Nottingham on Wednesday

Three horse to include in a multiple on Wednesday . . .

Tattycoram (2.00 Nottingham)

This looks a tight contest despite the four runners, with three of those with experience having run to a similar level, but it’s last year’s winning trainer, Ralph Beckett, who can strike again. His filly posted a promising debut at Ascot last month, filling third spot in a race that wasn’t run to suit. The runner-up has already franked the form, winning snuggly at Haydock on Saturday, and this daughter of Camelot looks a strong candidate to build on that initial effort and land a first success.

Troy Story (2.48 Catterick)

Alan King’s juvenile recorded a debut not devoid of promise when finishing down the field behind subsequent Champagne Stakes winner Bay City Roller at Sandown over 7f in July, and took a good step forward over the same course and distance to finish four lengths off Jonquil the following month. That effort puts him top on RPRs for this and, with Brandon Wilkie taking off a valuable 5lb, he’s another who can win his first race. 

Rory The Cat (5.15 Musselburgh)

Lucinda Russell’s gelding won’t be scoring for the first time - the son of Starspangledbanner already a five-time winner - and bagged his latest victory over this course and distance when comfortably ahead on his penultimate start. He’d previously not quite got home over longer trips on the Flat and that was the case again on his next outing, gradually weakening over 2m2f. The drop back down in trip looks in his favour and he can defy topweight.
