The Punt Acca: Matt Rennie's three horse racing tips from the second day of Doncaster's St Leger meeting and Salisbury

Three horses to include in a treble on Friday . . .

Magnum Force (3.00 Doncaster)

This Ger Lyons-trained juvenile was one of the biggest eyecatchers from York's Ebor meeting and can take glory in the Flying Childers Stakes. The son of Mehmas was a comfortable winner over the minimum trip at Cork on his penultimate start and travelled like the best horse in the race in the Listed Roses Stakes. However, he met a wall of horses and had to switch multiple times, while the winner Tropical Storm got the run of the race in front. His performance can be significantly marked up given he was only beaten a fast-finishing neck and this Middle Park Stakes entry could have better luck here.

Gregory (3.35 Doncaster)

This four-year-old has not won since Royal Ascot last year, but the Doncaster Cup trip may bring out the best of him. Trained by John and Thady Gosden, he blew out over 2m4f in the Ascot Gold Cup earlier this year over a trip which probably stretched him, before running fine races over 2m and 2m½f when third to Kyprios and Vauban the last twice. In both of those contests he kept on notably well at the end, which suggests this 2m2f trip could be his optimum. He could get first run on stablemate Sweet William, who is a late finisher.

Tabiti (3.55 Salisbury)

This Juddmonte-owned filly should have this Group 3 contest within her compass. Trained by Ralph Beckett, she was an impressive winner of a 7f maiden on her debut at Newmarket last month, when she had to do her own running but put away her rivals by three and a quarter lengths. While she drops back in trip for this, she is a half-sister to Fire Demon, who has done all of his winning at 6f, and the distance should pose no issue for her.
