The Punt Acca: Matt Rennie's two horse racing tips from Naas

Two horses to include in a double on Sunday

Firefox (1.25 Naas)

The Grade 2 Racing Post Novice Chase is a red-hot event, but take a chance on this seven-year-old to beat the favourite Inthepocket. Trained by Gordon Elliott, he made a stylish chasing bow at Down Royal in November before he was beaten just half a length in the Grade 1 Drinmore Novice Chase last time, when he was beaten by a far better stayer in Croke Park. He has since boosted that form by following up at the highest level over the Christmas period and the stiff finish at Naas could his stamina come into play.

The Yellow Clay (1.55 Naas)

The betting suggests Jasmin De Vaux is the one to beat in the Grade 1 2m4f novice hurdle, but The Yellow Clay keeps on improving and can put it up to him. Trained by Gordon Elliott, the six-year-old is unbeaten in three starts over hurdles, but needed every yard of this trip to win a Grade 2 at Navan last time. His future days lay over further, he has plenty more experience than most of his rivals and Naas's finish takes some getting, so he will be doing his best work in the closing stages.
