The Punt Acca: Laurence Morter's three horse racing tips at Kempton and Newmarket on Wednesday

Three horses to include in a multiple on Wednesday . . .

Lunar Eclipse (4.05 Newmarket)

A lightly raced three-year-old, Lunar Eclipse showed some promise on her debut this time last year with a win on heavy ground at the Rowley Mile. She made her reappearance this season with a rather disappointing run in the Pretty Polly Stakes where she finished some way back. However, that was behind eventual Group 1 winners in Friendly Soul and Kalpana who both finished well clear of the rest of the field. She seems to have been kept off this summer as she looks to appreciate softer ground. She should be more suited to this level and if the extended break has not had too much of an effect, she should go well.

Byblos (4.40 Newmarket)

Byblos has shown a lot of progression over his two runs. He did not get off to the best of starts and ran very green when making his debut last month at Kempton. However, he took a remarkable step forward last time at Newcastle, finishing a respectable second, no match for the winner but well clear of the rest of the field. This will be his first run on grass and the question will be how does he react. But it should not prove too much of an issue as he is related to some smart individuals including Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Siskin, and there should be more to come from him.

Rawaasi (6.40 Kempton)

Yet to win in her 11 starts, Rawaasi has shown decent form on the all-weather with two second places and a third on her three runs on the artificial surfaces. She ran very well last time at Southwell, shaping as though she was going to challenge the leader, but was just held. This is a similar level to the race she ran in last time and if she can reproduce her previous effort, that elusive first win should not be far away.
