The Punt Acca: Laurence Morter's three horse racing tips at Goodwood and Southwell on Tuesday

Three horses to include in a multiple on Tuesday . . .

Wind River (2.55 Goodwood)

Wind River made his return to the track after nearly a year off and showed remarkable improvement. He did not get the best of starts, showing his inexperience, but made good headway in the closing stages to finish a respectable second. He was no match for the winner, but still finished well clear of the rest of the field showing that he does have some ability. It is possible he needed a run after such a long break, but with that now under his belt he will have come on and now gets a rematch against Retracement, who finished in front of him last time. This looks a good opportunity for him to reverse those placings.

Milliterries (4.50 Southwell)

Milliterries has shown she has some ability in her seven-race career without getting to the line first. She has, however, caught the eye on multiple occasions, most notably last time at Doncaster where she was right in the thick of things, but got bumped in the closing stages causing her to lose some momentum and possibly the race. She has arguably been unlucky on a number of occasions, but she looks well placed to reverse her misfortunes and that elusive first win does not look far away.

King’s Coronation (5.25 Southwell)

King’s Coronation has shown he has some ability in his relatively short career, but has now been runner-up in three consecutive races. In each of those three runs he got out well and was prominent throughout, only to be just denied by the winner. However, there is cause to be optimistic with him as he has shown improvement each time and a couple of those winners have gone on to score again. He should go well on his handicap debut.
