The Punt Acca: Harry Wilson's three horse racing tips at Brighton, Chepstow and Windsor on Monday
Three horses to include in a multiple on Monday . . .
Poetic Force (2.50 Brighton)
Poetic Force isn't the force of old at ten, but he's very well handicapped and is capable of winning a race like this on form as recent as April, when he was fourth over course and distance off a 7lb higher mark. He stayed on strongly back here last time, when unsuited by the slower gallop over the mile trip, but he shouldn't have that worry here with Dion Baker, who tends to go off fast, in the line-up. Molly Gunn, who has won on him before, takes off 7lb, which effectively means he's running off a mark 13lb lower than when winning over course and distance last August, and if the ground remains rattling fast, he could prove his price all wrong.
Michaela's Boy (3.35 Chepstow)
Michaela's Boy was narrowly denied the perfect start to life with new trainer Robert Cowell when beaten three-quarters of a length at Newbury last month, but that was his first start after a 100-day break, and having been gelded and given wind surgery, so he was entitled to need it. He hasn't won since December 2022, but he was beaten just a head off a 10lb higher mark at the Curragh last year and is invariably well handicapped should he build on the promise of his stable debut.
Thursday (4.30 Windsor)
Thursday was a big eyecatcher at Epsom last Monday, staying on powerfully from the rear to take third behind two who had raced far more prominently having been denied a clear run two furlongs out. She was racing from 4lb out of the weights in a much better race than this and her jockey weighed in 2lb overweight, so she should be a big player off her actual mark of 57 here back down in class. She won over course and distance in June, form that was franked by the runner-up, and has shaped as if the return to this longer trip would suit.
