The Punt Acca: Charlie Huggins' first tip was a 9-2 winner and he bids to get the treble up at York and Hexham
Three horses to include in a treble on Saturday . . .
Starzintheireyes (1.50 Newmarket)
Split subsequent Group 3 Solario Stakes winner Field Of Gold and Mount Kilimanjaro when second on his debut at Newmarket’s July meeting. The third has boosted the form by winning at Longchamp last Saturday and Starzintheireyes comfortably got off the mark at Leicester last time. Ralph Beckett and Rossa Ryan can do no wrong at the moment and the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe-winning combination could land another Group prize here should the Marc Chan-owned juvenile handle the extra 3f.
Ride The Thunder (3.55 York)
Chased home God Of War on his debut and that winner had previously finished fourth behind subsequent Group 1 Middle Park Stakes winner Shadow Of Light. Ride The Thunder was beaten only a nose at Doncaster’s St Leger meeting last month and Roger Varian looks to have found a good opportunity for the son of Night Of Thunder to make it third time lucky.
Supremely West (4.20 Hexham)
Ended last season with four consecutive second-placed finishes but bumped into some progressive rivals along the way. Supremely West was runner-up to subsequent Grade 1 third Bugise Seagull when giving that rival 4lb at Southwell last December. The six-year-old went on to chase home Cuthbert Dibble, who followed up off 8lb higher before finishing third in the Pertemps Final, on his handicap debut at Chepstow in January. The selection finished eight-and-three-quarter lengths clear of subsequent Cheltenham Festival winner Monmiral at the same track the following month before understandably finishing Gwennie May Boy too good at Uttoxeter, given the winner went on to win a 21-runner Premier Handicap off 9lb higher on Grand National day. A 5lb rise may not prevent the son of Westerner making a successful reappearance for Richard Newland and Jamie Insole, who have saddled three winners over jumps in the last six days.
