The Punt Acca: Andrew Cooper's three horse racing tips at Carlisle and Lingfield on Wednesday

Three horses to include in a multiple on Wednesday . . .

Time Tested (4.15 Lingfield)

Michael Bell’s three-year-old colt is far from the finished article and has done well to win two of his three starts outside maiden/novice company. He traded at 100 in running when mowing down the ‘right’ horse at Yarmouth and bounced back from being beaten at Brighton to nab his main market rival at Lingfield despite coming from further back and racing wider into the straight. This 0-65 looks a good next step.

Makalu (5.03 Carlisle)

Ruth Carr’s hold-up performer will undoubtedly need luck in running, particularly if they stay over on the far side, but a fifth win of the year could be in the offing. A 1lb nudge for finishing second at Ripon two starts ago has kicked in but a further 2lb rise for failing by a short-head last week hasn’t. He looked all over the winner there (traded at 1.06 in running) but can make amends.

Hectic (5.33 Carlisle)

Danny Tudhope has ridden four winners, three seconds and three thirds from just 17 rides for the Fell/Murray partnership and Hectic looks to have sound claims of doubling his tally running in just his second Class 5 handicap. He ran well in his first crack at one last time but connections stumbled upon a good race at Doncaster - the winner was following up, the second had won and finished second on his two previous starts and the third went in next time. From a good draw, my pick should be bang there throughout.
