David Jennings answers the burning questions ahead of Saturday's action

What's the big story?

It's putting huge pressure on those young grey shoulders, but given the Gosdens have won the Sky Bet Solario Stakes (3.35) with the likes of Raven's Pass (2007), Kingman (2013) and Too Darn Hot (2018), it is only natural to assume Field Of Gold is the big hope in the Clarehaven camp. Literally.

He's a son of the mighty Kingman, who won this race at odds of 2-7, and the way Field Of Gold put daylight between himself and the rest of the pack in a hot-looking maiden at Newmarket's July meeting suggests he is well above average.

We need something to come out and challenge Coolmore in the big juvenile events at the end of the season and maybe this guy is the one to do just that. Next stop Dewhurst after this. Take the 33-1 now and don't say you weren't told.

So, who wins the Solario Stakes?

After the build-up above, I'm hardly going to go and tell you Field Of Gold won't win. I think he will. Comfortably.

What's the bet of the day?

It probably should be Field Of Gold, but I've written far too much about him already so let's go for Ganesha in the 5f handicap at Sandown (5.20).

He won three times as a juvenile but his rating has dropped from 88 to 80 in a few months. However, there were seriously encouraging signs at York last time and he looks ready to pounce again.

Who's the lay of the day?

It's got to be Balmacara in the 1m2f handicap at Sandown (3.00), as Involvement looks on a more upward curve and only has to give him 2lb.

Who wins the Irish Cambridgeshire?

Don't laugh, but Soaring Monarch would have been seriously tempting at 33-1 had more rain arrived. I told you not to laugh. He's going to bag a big one soon, and his trainer had a winner the other day at Navan.

In the absence of rain Wigmore Street, for that man Ryan Moore, catches the eye. He looked every inch a Group horse on his sole start for the Crisfords and maybe, just maybe, Joseph O'Brien has had this event in the back of his mind all along.

What's the best piece of punting advice for Saturday?

A little trixie on Ray Dawson's three rides at Beverley. The super-consistent Walter Hartright should take the opener (1.30), the ultra-speedy but sometimes slowly away Clarendon House can take the Beverley Bullet (2.05) if his alarm clock finally goes off in the stalls, and King Of Scotia looks a big player in the mile handicap (4.55).
