Spotlight Lucky 15 tips: four horses to back at Cheltenham and Doncaster on Saturday
The best four Spotlight tips to include in a Lucky 15 bet today
What is a Lucky 15?
A Lucky 15 is one of the most popular multiple bets among horseracing punters and the clue is in the name as a Lucky 15 consists of 15 bets on four selections in different events. That equals four singles, six doubles, four trebles and a fourfold accumulator.
The beauty of the Lucky 15 is that only one selection of four must win to guarantee a return and the majority of bookmakers will offer incentives to play the bet.
Madara 1.50 Cheltenham
Initiated a notable handicap double with a win over 2m on this card 12 months ago (for Sophie Leech); made very promising late headway upped to 2m4f in the Paddy Power Gold Cup here on debut for Dan Skelton, looking a likely type for this prize; usual cheekpieces now reapplied; highly interesting.
Gaboriot 2.05 Doncaster
Won C&D handicap (good) last November and added three hunter chase wins in the spring (soft/heavy); returned from a break with staying-on third in the Grand Sefton at Aintree (2m5f, good to soft) last month and he could relish this step back up in trip; on the shortlist.
Libberty Hunter 2.25 Cheltenham
C&D winner on New Year's Day (2m, heavy) and a clear second in the Grand Annual back here (soft) in March; Grade 1 novice assignment on good to soft at Aintree proved too tough (Master Chewy 11l ahead) but that was career-best form and he brings potential back at Cheltenham assuming fitness on reappearance.
Joyeuse 3.35 Cheltenham
Dam half-sister to Champion Hurdle winner Epatante who's by the same sire as this mare; 235,000euros buy after winning her French bumper in 2022 and also took a maiden hurdle at Taunton (2m, soft) this January when next seen; could not get to grips with the first two in six-runner race at Ascot (1m7f, good) three weeks ago but it was a solid return and she brings notable potential to this handicap debut over new trip.
How to calculate your Lucky 15 returns?
How much your bet returns will depend on how many selections win, and their respective odds. For example, if two of your selections win then you can expect to be paid on on two single bets, and a double of the two selections. If three selections win then you can expect to be paid out on three singles, three doubles and a treble, and so on.
