Southwell Placepot tips: Robbie Wilders' picks for the £50,000 guarantee

Hat-trick-seeking four-year-old Blenheim Lad seems the safest pick in the 1m6f handicap (5.00) that kicks off the Placepot at Southwell. It'd be a surprise if he failed to make the frame.

Sherlock was unable to justify strong market support at Newcastle last time, but still ran well and deserves another shot in the 7f nursery (5.30).

Novak, who came from much further back than the winner when second over course and distance this month, goes with strong claims in the 7f handicap (6.00).

There are a few interesting newcomers in the 6f fillies' novice (6.30), but the percentage call is Nazuki, who was a promising second on her debut here in October.

The 6f handicap (7.00) is a competitive affair. Cajetan is unbeaten on the all-weather and fresh for the time of year. Mojomaker is another to note after an eyecatching fourth at Chelmsford following 13 months off. He's well treated.

Lion Of War's career got back on track with a sound effort at Kempton last month. The 1m handicap (7.30) is a nice opportunity for him, while the in-form Chalk Mountain is capable of winning again off this mark and looks a threat.
