Sandown Placepot tips: Paul Kealy's perm for the £50,000 guaranteed pool
Hot Fuss boasts comfortably the best bit of hurdling form in Sandown's opener (12.48) and he does like soft ground, but whether the son of Calyx wants it winter soft at Sandown over 2m is another matter.
I would oppose him For Placepot purposes with City Of London, a half-brother to Nemean Lion who ran with such promise on his racecourse debut in October, and Small Fry, a proper soft-ground stayer on the Flat.
I am tempted to take on the market front two in the next (1.23) as well because I think Mint Gold will run a big race, while the keen-going Invincible Nao could well enjoy dropping right back in trip.
It is any two from three in the third leg (1.58), with my suggestions Kingston Pride and Quebecois, while in the leg four (2.33) I will be going with Resplendent Grey and Welcom To Cartries.
In the fifth leg (3.03) Jupiter Du Gite is a bit of a flyer, so I'll add Tea Clipper, who never wins but is routinely placed and is the best handicapped even on the pick of last season's form, let alone what he did before that.
In the final leg (3.35), Fasol probably wants further, but this will be some test after Thursday's rain, and he was Listed and Group-placed on bad ground on the Flat in France.
