Sandown Placepot tips: Paul Kealy's perm for the £100,000 guaranteed pool
Lud'or has the best hurdles form in Sandown's opener (12.05), but it's nothing special, and for Placepot purposes the two standouts look to be bumpers performers Juby Ball, second here last season, and Khrisma, a Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed in France. I'd stick both in, just in case there's a non-runner and one of them can't jump.
The state of the ground on the chase course could be pivotal in the next (12.40) as Ostrava Du Berlais looks well ahead of her mark, but has no form when it's soft. It's normally quicker on the chase course than over hurdles, so she goes in, alongside Xcitations, who is a dual course-and-distance winner.
In the third (1.15), Doddiethegreat almost planted himself at the start at Kempton last time, so might not be one to trust, for all he looks fairly treated.
West To The Bridge didn't stay nearly 3m here last time, but this is his trip and ground and the veteran should be a player, while the fragile Hourvari shaped with promise on his return from a long absence in November and won't mind conditions.
Only eight go in the next (1.50) so a non-runner would be bad news, but I expect Etalon to run a huge race back at Sandown and he's my banker.
The Listed mares' hurdle (2.25) surely revolves around how well Della Casa Lunga has come out of her Kempton win eight days ago as she's some way clear on ratings and is perfectly at home on soft ground. Georgi Girl might be the danger if she doesn't find the trip too testing in the ground.
The featured veterans' chase has attracted far fewer runners than usual and my two against the field are Fortescue and Eldorado Allen, who doesn't win very often, but has run well twice this term and clearly wants further than the 2m4½f he ran over last time.
