Sandown Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his selections for a guaranteed £50,000 pool

The Tote are putting up a £50,000 guarantee for the Placepot at Sandown on Wednesday and the opening 5f handicap (1.50) is tricky with only two places on offer. Secret Handsheikh is going to be popular under a penalty for his Brighton win and goes in alongside Soul Seeker.

Wild Nature had a subsequent winner behind when second on his debut over course and distance last month and any progress will be enough for a place in the mile maiden (2.20).

There are only two places available in the following 7f novice (2.50) and Rock d’Oro finished second to Saturday’s Champagne Stakes winner Bay City Roller on his debut at Chelmsford. He will be popular, so put him in with Cosmic Year, just in case of an upset.

There are eight declared for the Listed race (3.23) and three places provided they all line up. Cash has more ability than he has been showing and goes in alongside outsider Crown Board.

Fleurir has a good chance in the mile fillies’ handicap (3.55), but I’ve not given up on Expensive Queen either. She has joined James Tate from Kevin Ryan and may improve.

Oisin Murphy takes over on High Point in the last leg (4.25) and he is a banker if all eight go.
