Salisbury Placepot picks: Paul Kealy's perm for the £50,000 guaranteed pool

The potential for a ground change makes Placepot punting difficult as there could well be a raft of non-runners, but Beau Jardine won't mind any easing in the ground in Salisbury's opener (2.20).

He's been running well enough on a quick surface and the last time he hit easy ground he hacked up under rider Shariq Mohd over course and distance off just a 2lb higher mark. 

He's not banker material in this sort of race, though, so we'll add Edvard Grieg, who ran a career-best for his new yard last month.

I wouldn't normally bank on an unraced horse, but I can see Dissident (2.50), a half-brother to Bluestocking (won first time up at Salisbury) and Qirat, being pretty short in what looks a weak maiden.

Silver Ghost has the best form in the next (3.20), but it's hardly standout stuff and there are some interesting newcomers, not least Kingsclere, who is a sister to 2,000 Guineas winner Kameko and you'd imagine will have been named after her trainer's base for a reason.

Handcuffed is the main fancy for the 6f handicap (3.50), and I'm sticking with form over potential for the back-up in the shape of hat-trick-seeking Magic Mild, whose Newmarket win has worked out well.

Under The Twilight is a strong fancy for the fifth (4.25) despite opening up as outsider of the lot, and I'll add Katey Kontent, another with good course form.

That just leaves the mile handicap (5.00), in which the Oisin Murphy-ridden Aafoor and Faro Di Notte, who was well backed last time and showed improved form without winning, are included.
