Pontefract Placepot tips: Robbie Wilders' picks for the £50,000 guarantee

The Tote's £50,000 Placepot guarantee heads to Pontefract and Loving Apprentice is the one to beat in the opener (2.15). She ran well behind a subsequent Newmarket nursery winner at Chelmsford last month.

Charming Fellow, a rare runner for Peter Chapple-Hyam at this track, didn't perform badly when fourth in a better race on the Rowley Mile on his handicap debut and can build on that.

The Silver Tankard (3.15) looks a good opportunity for Calla Lagoon. He still has an entry for the Futurity Trophy and is proven on the ground after beating the useful Seaplane at Ascot.

The tough Sophia's Starlight, who rallied to victory after being headed off 2lb lower on her previous run, is fancied to do the business in the next (3.45).

Only the winner will do in a trappy 2m2f conditions race (4.15) and the classy Rajinsky appeals with conditions to suit. Ignore his Old Borough Cup disappointment as this is more his cup of tea.

I want two on my side in the 1m2f handicap (4.45). I'm sure we haven't seen the best of Spirit Of Acklam, while Paddy The Squire should find this more suitable after failing to land a blow in superior contests at Newmarket and York.
