Plumpton Placepot tips: Tom Segal attempts to crack the guaranteed £75,000 pool

Since teaming up together, Plumpton hasn't been a happy hunting ground for local trainer combination Gary and Josh Moore, but that is likely to change on the big day at the track because they appear to have loads of good chances.

The obvious one is Mark Of Gold in the opening novice handicap chase (12.35). He jumped really well when winning a Grade 2 on his chase debut and will be hard to beat if in the same mood, but he has to give lots of weight to the other two and Lord Of Thunder has plenty of upside as well.

In the next, the juvenile hurdle (1.05), Risk It All was well backed on his Kempton debut and is another Moore horse who will be hard to keep out of the frame.

The novice hurdle (1.35) is a good race and several can be fancied but The Bluesman should have come on a great deal for his comeback win and has form in soft ground, while a few of the other principals don't.

Cloud Dancer was impressive at Doncaster last time and will surely be placed if repeating that effort in the staying handicap hurdle (2.05). Heavy ground would be a concern and if conditions become really testing that would suit Up For Parol, so he goes in the perm too.

The feature race, the Sussex National (2.40), can be fought out by last year's winner Dom Of Mary and Animal, who goes well when the mud, is flying.

In the concluding Placepot race (3.15), Diplomatic Ash goes well at the track and wears cheekpieces for the first time in.
