Plumpton Placepot picks: Tom Segal attempts to crack the £50,000 guaranteed pool
There aren't many runners on the Plumpton card and it might be possible to crack the Placepot without too big an outlay.
In the opening mares' maiden hurdle (2.20) Dameofthecotswolds stands out, but she's no great shakes on form, so Cherry Cola for local trainer Sheena West goes in as well after her excellent effort on the Flat at Bath recently.
If Belgarum jumps as well as he did at Fontwell last time he will be hard to keep out of the frame in the novice handicap chase (2.50), while Rogue King only has to reproduce his recent form on the Flat to win the juvenile hurdle (3.20).
The 2m handicap hurdle (3.50) is probably the most competitive race of the day and the former Betfair Hurdle winner Aucunrisque is extremely well handicap if he's back to his best.
He goes well fresh and Chris Gordon rarely leaves a Plumpton meeting without a winner, but he wasn't at his best last season, so the bottom weight Addosh, goes in too, as he's in-form and was slightly unlucky not to win last time.
If Alien Storm jumps well on his chase debut he looks well treated in the handicap chase (4.20).
The two at the top of the weights in the concluding handicap hurdle (4.50), R S Ambush and Greatness Awaits, are running well and look the most solid place options.
