Paul Kealy's play of the day at Newmarket

See The Fire

2.40 Newmarket

The form fillies for the Virgin Bet Sun Chariot Stakes are Inspiral and Nashwa, but the latter is expected to need the run after six months off, while you never know which version of the former will show up, even though she looked on the way back when third to Charyn at Deauville last time.

The bookmakers prefer the claims of Tamfana, who won a fillies' Group 3 contest in fine style at Sandown on the drop back to a mile last time, but See The Fire won a better Group 3 race almost as easily at York's Ebor meeting and is a bigger price, and I can't quite get the discrepancy.

Having just failed to catch Opera Singer in the Nassau at Goodwood, she bolted up in the Strensall, and given the speed she showed to come from the back there, she's not going to have any trouble back at a mile either. Her best form last year was on easy ground, so conditions shouldn't be a worry.
