Graeme Rodway's play of the day at Exeter
Jupiter Allen
There is plenty of rain forecast to fall in the west of Britain and that could change conditions significantly for the jump racing at both Exeter and Ffos Las. If they get the anticipated amount at Ffos Las then conditions could be heavy and Exeter therefore makes more appeal for punting.
The 3m handicap chase is a cracking betting race and, with conditions expected to ease, the one to support is Jupiter Allen. He is a winner at the track on heavy ground and extended his perfect record at Exeter to 2-2 with a victory over course and distance in October.
Jupiter Allen stayed on strongly to beat the ill-fated subsequent Cheltenham winner Abuffalosoldier by half a length that day and is only 4lb higher on his return to Exeter.
That’s because he has dropped 1lb in the weights for finishing fourth at Sandown two weeks ago, but that was probably a stronger race than this and it was won in a sound time.
Jupiter Allen is only five and will be having just his fourth start over fences so there should be plenty of improvement still to come with the Jane Williams stable currently in form.
