Paul Kealy's play of the day at Cheltenham
Ga Law
Ga Law's win in this two years ago came off a mark of just 142, so he's got his work cut out off 13lb higher now, but he won another big handicap here off 150 in January and he's not going to be far away if he runs as consistently as he does when he gets the right conditions.
Connections have tried him over three miles in the past, but he only barely gets it and clearly didn't stay although a commendable seventh in last season's Coral Gold Cup over 3m2f at Newbury.
What he really wants is a strongly run two and a half miles on ground no slower than good to soft, and when he's had those conditions or quicker over around that trip his form figures read 111231122.
With a few of these out of the handicap thanks to the presence of Protektorat, he looks a cast-iron each-way play with bookmakers offering four places.
