Paul Kealy's play of the day at Ascot

Rightsotom

3.15 Ascot

A chance is taken on Rightsotom proving nicely handicapped on his return from a long absence and first outing for Joe Tizzard.

The five-year-old was campaigned like a good horse right from the start by Thomas Mullins as a juvenile, as he finished second to Zarak The Brave in a maiden at Fairyhouse before being sent straight for the Triumph, in which he was sixth of 15 behind Lossiemouth at odds of 200-1.

A 25-1 fourth in the Aintree Grade 1 after that, he closed that campaign with a runaway win at odds-on at Cork, but hasn't been seen since. He's clearly had his problems, but he was a good jumper and he returns off his old Irish mark of 126, which means he has likely been given some leeway by the BHA handicapper for his absence.

After only four lifetime runs, he's one who could well end up a lot better than that.
