November meeting tips: 'His price surely underestimates his chances' - why this horse can win at Cheltenham
A selection of our top tipsters provide their leading fancies for the November meeting at Cheltenham this weekend.
Springwell Bay
1.45 Cheltenham, Friday: Mucking Brilliant Paddy Power Novices' Chase (Listed), 3m½f
By James Stevens, West Country correspondent
Just four runners line up in the second race on day one of the November meeting but Jonjo and AJ O'Neill's challenger should be very tough to beat if he delivers on the promise of his chase debut at Chepstow.
He produced a smooth round of jumping and simply looked too good in a race that has worked well, with third-placed Boombawn going on to win the Rising Stars Novices' Chase at Wincanton.
That win might bring him forward. He has won at this meeting before and the combination of good ground and three miles should suit.

Lookaway
1.45 Cheltenham, Saturday: Paddy Power Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices' Chase (Grade 2), 2m
By Tom Park, audience editor
L'Eau Du Sud has been priced up as the 7-4 ante-post favourite, but there must be a chance the ground comes up too quick for him, despite the fact he won impressively on good to soft at Stratford on his chasing debut. Dan Skelton said the Paddy Power meeting was the plan in his stable tour – providing there was rain – but there hasn't been, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he didn't run.
Iberico Lord is another who likes soft ground and Path D'Oroux ran as recently as Monday so this race could cut up dramatically, and if that happens it surely makes Lookaway a terrific bet.
He produced a solid round of jumping on good ground on his chase debut at Uttoxeter and finished second in the Greatwood Hurdle at this meeting last term. He has Grade 1 novice hurdle form to his name, having finished second to Captain Teague in the Challow and third to Mystical Power at Aintree, and his price surely underestimates his chances.
Lets Go Champ
2.20 Cheltenham, Saturday: Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase, 2m4f
By Jack Haynes, reporter
Lets Go Champ makes most appeal off a low weight. The Henry de Bromhead-trained nine-year-old shaped well in two beginners' chases last winter and has since climbed the handicap ranks.
He was a convincing winner at the Punchestown festival on his penultimate start and was far from disgraced when sixth in the Galway Plate. Decent ground is to his liking.
Leader In The Park
1.45 Cheltenham, Sunday: Cheltenham Novices' Limited Handicap Chase, 2m4f
By Harry Wilson, tipster
This lightly raced six-year-old showed plenty of promise over hurdles, notably splitting 132-rated and 129-rated rivals at Ascot on his debut last November and getting the better of a subsequent winner at Doncaster in February.
He looks an obvious type to improve over fences, given he was picked up for £250,000 after winning a point-to-point by 56 lengths in February last year and is a half-brother to dual Grade 1-winning chaser Benefficient. He should have plenty of scope from an opening mark of 121.
Bob Bob Ricard
1.45 Cheltenham, Sunday: Cheltenham Novices' Limited Handicap Chase, 2m4f
By Joe Eccles, digital journalist
This six-year-old was a dual chase winner earlier this season, impressing when scoring at Worcester in June when he had a couple of subsequent winners behind.
He wasn't beaten far behind the subsequent Persian War winner Flying Fortune back over hurdles at Worcester in September and was still well in contention when badly hampered by a faller two out returned to fences at the Showcase meeting in October last time.
This track, trip and ground will all suit Bob Bob Ricard and on the pick of his form a mark of 123 looks potentially lenient.
Be Aware
3.30 Cheltenham, Sunday: Unibet Greatwood Handicap Hurdle, 2m½f
By Graeme Rodway, deputy betting editor
The form of his second at Sandown last time was franked when sixth-placed Act Of Authority won at the same track on Sunday and there is nobody better in Britain at getting one ready for a big two-mile handicap hurdle than Dan Skelton.
The stable has won this race with North Hill Harvey and West Cork in recent seasons, both of whom were making their seasonal reappearance, and Be Aware is still lightly raced and open to plenty of further improvement.
