Newcastle Placepot tips: Robbie Wilders' picks for the £50,000 guaranteed pool

A mile nursery (4.50) kicks off the Placepot at Newcastle and this is a new trip for most of these. Shielas Well looks a stayer in the making and is first on the list. The extra yardage could also unlock some improvement from Owt For Nowt

Philanthropist, who took a big leap forward from first to second start, can break his duck in the 7f maiden (5.23).

Sarmiento Power is a potentially well-treated handicap debutant for Roger Varian and gets the nod in the next (6.00).

Juicy and Faro De San Juan showed up well in a Racing League contest here last month and can be expected to be thereabouts for what is probably a less competitive 6f handicap (6.30). There are reasons to expect both will benefit for this additional furlong.

The well-bred Stanage returns from a break and can do the business in the mile novice (7.00) for John and Thady Gosden, whose runners here are always respected.

The final leg (7.30) is the trickiest of the six. Eminent Jewel will be a massive contender if breaking on terms this time, while Jackson Street was a bit unlucky at Chelmsford recently.
