Newcastle Placepot tips: Robbie Wilders' picks for the £50,000 guarantee

Something was a good second over course and distance last time and is first on the list for the 1m4½f handicap (4.25) that kicks off the Placepot at Newcastle. Meridian Way, another lightly raced three-year-old, also goes in with this big step up in trip sure to suit.

Lordsbridge Blu stands out on his handicap debut in the 1m2f contest (4.58) after a series of promising efforts, while the trip-dropping Hawaii Five O can show how well treated he is in the 7f nursery (5.30).

Cases can be made for several in the 7f novice (6.00). Making most appeal are nicely bred once-raced pair Royal Alliance and Yuvraaj, who both shaped reasonably well on their debuts.

Missmimi is on a roll for Tina Jackson and can continue her recent progress back at a more suitable 6f distance in the next (6.30).

Juddmonte handicap debutante Inversion is interesting in division one of the mile handicap (7.00), although there is more substance to the form of Walson's Law, who could raise his game for first-time cheekpieces after going close here this month.
