Newcastle Placepot tips: Robbie Wilders' picks for the £50,000 guarantee

Sycamore Gap, who pulled seven lengths clear of the third when going close off this mark last week, looks the way to go in the opening leg (4.10) of the Newcastle Placepot.

Three-year-old Vintage Love has been competitive on three of her last four starts and gets the vote in a poor 1m2f handicap (4.45). She is unexposed at the trip and it can bring out more from her.

Mr Fantastic ran well in a good Ascot novice recently and this race (5.20) looks weaker. The steady improver can break his duck for Karl Burke.

Orange Sky is the form pick in the 7f juvenile fillies' maiden (5.55) after an encouraging debut at Newbury. Well-bred newcomer Sweet Scent, whose dam ran in the Prix Marcel Boussac at two, is the other selection.

Things get tougher in the final two legs. A drop in trip, first-time cheekpieces and booking of a promising apprentice in William Pyle make Ettorino of some interest in the 6f nursery (6.30). The Archie Watson-trained Ashen Glow is another who should benefit for the return to sprinting.

Asadjumeirah is the main pick in the 7f handicap (7.00). Back-up plays on Doomsday and Mutanaaseq are also advised.
