Newcastle Placepot picks: Robbie Wilders' tips for the £50,000 guaranteed pool

The fitting of cheekpieces could help seal the deal for Orbital in the 1m2f handicap (3.23) that opens the Placepot at Newcastle. The Cheveley Park Stud-owned three-year-old went close over course and distance when last seen.

Pockley has slipped to an enticing mark and caught the eye running on into fifth here last time after encountering some trouble in running. He appeals most in the 5f handicap (3.55).

The similarly well-treated Commander Crouch, who was strongly supported on his stable debut for Gemma Tutty, deserves another chance in the mile handicap (4.30).

Longhaired General is 17lb clear on adjusted Racing Post Ratings in the mile maiden (5.00) and should be too good for these if ready to roll following a 149-day absence.

Lahab wasn't unfancied for a higher-class race here two weeks ago and is dangerous to underestimate in the 7f handicap (5.30).

The 5f handicap (6.00) looks a good opportunity for the unexposed El Bufalo to do the business. He ran a cracker at Chelmsford this month and surely has more to offer for Dylan Cunha.
