Newcastle Placepot picks: Phill Anderson's selections for Tuesday's £50,000 guaranteed pool

Tuesday's £50,000 guarantee from the Tote goes to Newcastle and the opener is one of the trickier legs in the perm.

Heavy ground was against Orbital last time out but she looks like a major player back on all-weather. Recent course-and-distance winner Prince Achille is another to include.

Leg two (3.24) looks a little easier and Fireblade will be hard to keep out of the first three if he can transfer his turf form to the Tapeta.

Fort George was only narrowly denied when well backed over course and distance last time out and he’s the sole selection in race three (4.00).

With seven runners declared and just two places on offer in leg four (4.30), it’s worth taking two selections. Top Bins can bounce back and Sherlock, who represents an in-form yard, has been placed in both handicap starts on the all-weather so far.

The six-furlong Class 6 (5.00) is another competitive race. HK Fourteen probably had a bit too much to do at Southwell last time in his four-timer bid and Jackson Street should be suited by this stiffer test having been placed at Wolverhampton last time.

The fillies’ handicap (5.30) is the sixth and final race of the perm. Red Maids should be in the mix again with a pace to aim at and Style Of Life had been in fine form before a blip last time out.
