Newbury Placepot tips: Paul Kealy's perm for the £150k guaranteed pool

Senior tipster

Dan Skelton is fast closing in on 100 winners for the season and he has a few who could edge him closer at Newbury, including Listentoyourheart in the opening leg (12.07) of the Placepot.

She has just about the best hurdles form, although it came on quicker ground. Hurdling newcomer Jubilee Alpha, three places ahead of that rival in the Grade 2 Aintree mares' bumper in April, goes in, too.

I'm hoping Demnat will prove a handicap blot in the second (12.40), but it's probably daft to bank in such a competitive race, so Highstakesplayer, a good second to Chianti Classico on his return, is added.

It is banker time in the next (1.15), as Skelton's The New Lion looked a horse of huge potential at Chepstow and is worth the chance to prove it.

Anyharminasking and No Ordinary Joe are my two for the fourth (1.54), but it's probably worth including another in a deep heat, and Lac De Constance, given time after a fall on his return when just starting to look dangerous, is the one.

Excelero looks potentially well handicapped in the fifth (2.25), while it's easy to imagine Liari coming on for his third at Chepstow for Paul Nicholls, who seems to rate him quite highly.

That just leaves the feature Coral Gold Cup (3.00), in which my three against the field are Broadway Boy, Galia Des Liteaux and outsider Remastered, who has been in good form this season and has placed in this before.
