Newbury Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his selections for a £50,000 guaranteed pool

The Tote’s £50,000 Placepot guarantee is at Newbury and it’s worth banking on Liam Swagger in the opening 2m½f juvenile hurdle (12.05). He should be in the first three.

The same can be said for Roysse, who sets a good standard in the 2m½f maiden hurdle (12.40) and rates a banker. However, two will be needed in the next race (1.15) as there will be only two places on offer. Kintail and Kyntara appeal.

The following 2m4½f novice hurdle (1.50) is tricky. Nativehill comes into the race with a big reputation and should run well for Nicky Henderson, but Captain Bellamy also goes in.

Javert Allen is one of my best bets of the day in the 2m½f handicap chase (2.25) but a field of just five makes it tricky. Put Primoz in as well and hope that General Medrano is out of the first two.

The 2m4f handicap chase (3.00) is another small field with only two places available. Beau Balko should be in the places as he is so consistent, but Mylesfromwicklow can also go well.
