Dual hurdle winner Al Sayah returned to the Flat with a wide-margin win over 2m1f here three months ago and has presumably been tucked away for a tilt at this quite valuable prize since. She could still have significant improvement to come and is selected ahead of Grey Owl, who has some scope to progress from his recent Salisbury win. Stablemates Spitfire Bridge and Cherry Cola also make the shortlist, along with Dynamiste.

Joseph O'Brien is mob-handed here and cases can be made for all, with recent Deauville second American Sonja possibly the best of them. Elizabeth Jane is unexposed and looks capable of improving enough to have a say, as does Hanalia over this trip. The one to beat is Purple Lily, who just ran out of steam in the Irish Oaks and should take plenty of stopping over this trip.

Good Earth isn't opposed lightly in his hat-trick bid but Brave Nation has a fine record over C&D and continues to progress, his latest Southwell third a solid effort given he raced away from the main action from his low draw. He can reverse those placings with Muker and gain his fourth C&D win. The frustrating Arecibo and Haymaker may prove best of the rest.

One of the more competitive races on the card. Space Ninja looks to have as good a chance as any having come clear with a subsequent winner at Carlisle. Inanna has turned a corner for Jim Goldie and, although it was over 5f that she won the other day, her other career success was at this trip. Elettaria is preferred of the others.
