Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings
Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team . . .
Brighton
4.20: Romanovich
Preference is for ROMANOVICH, who has won two of his last five starts and found more progress when a close second over a mile here last month. Rogue Rosie has finished well for a close third at Chepstow in her last two runs and she's feared most ahead of Otago, who won this race last year and was also successful over C&D on his penultimate run.
David Moon
Carlisle
4.15: Irish Lullaby
Useful Flat performer IRISH LULLABY has made a promising start to her hurdles career and has the potential to be much better than her opening mark. King Of Tara takes a sizeable drop in grade for his second handicap start and is feared most ahead of V Twelve. Allbetsoff and Wolfburg flopped last time but shouldn't be written off.
Ben Hutton
Chelmsford
6.15: Profitman
With strong claims kept to this C&D, PROFITMAN is preferred. Solid Stella Hogan (second choice) and in-form Wrath Of Hector are likely dangers, while Yoshimi may prove resurgent off a reduced mark.
Steve Boow
Curragh
12.45: Cap Saint Martin
A drop in class may see CAP SAINT MARTIN break his maiden tag with his form from both his starts to date working out nicely. His effort in Listed class last time out is worth upgrading given that he made a mess of the start and testing ground shouldn't be an issue for him. Cumberland River shaped with promise in a barrier trial and Vorfreude outran huge odds when running with promise on his debut last month.
Phill Anderson
Southwell
5.00: Papa Don't Preach
If the blinkers continue to have a positive effect PAPA DON'T PREACH looks capable of defying a 5lb penalty for last weekend's Wolverhampton success. Fellow last-time-out scorer Azucena is second choice ahead of three-time C&D scorerb Street Life.
Andrew Sheret
Wolverhampton
2.53: Fantastikas
Just the six go but it's competitive. FANTASTIKAS is handicapped to win races and he returns from a break with his yard going great guns. Hold Your Fort arrives here with the wind in his sails but the chief threat is Investment Manager who will try to grind it out from the front.
