Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings
Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team. . .
Aintree
2.40: Idalko Bihoue
The six-year-old Idalko Bihoue (nap) was impressive at Cheltenham last October and there can be optimism that he will rediscover that form on today's reappearance given the excellent autumn his trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies is having. The Greenall/Guerriero stable won this last year and their prolific Gaboriot is feared most, with recent easy Chepstow winner King Turgeon next on the list. The progressive pair Outlaw Peter and Sure Touch could also play leading roles, however, along with Percussion who has finished placed in the last two runnings.
Ben Hutton
Chelmsford
8.00: Hunters Run
Most of these have something to prove but Hunters Run (nap) has found plenty of progress this autumn and was strong at the finish when a close second in his hat-trick bid at Southwell last time. He still looks on a workable mark and is a major player again on his step up to this trip. The generally consistent Genesius is feared most ahead of the unexposed three-year-old Al Haal, who looks a possible improver on her handicap debut.
David Moon
Doncaster
3.45: Minstrel Knight
It might prove ominous for the rest if the very lightly raced three-year-old Valvano can maintain his market strength, but as things stand he has a fair bit to prove. Stressfree has left an increasingly favourable impression over shorter trips, while Waxing Gibbous might prove the better option among two notable candidates (Master Builder is the other) for David Menuisier. Flash Bardot makes each-way appeal judged on her revival on heavy ground at Newbury last time. However, the top two on the list are Minstrel Knight (nap), a three-year-old who combines serious potential with strength in stamina and proficiency in the mud, and Miller Spirit who's been an unstoppable force on soft and heavy ground recently, including when he accounted for Flash Bardot at Newbury.
Richard Austen
Gowran Park
11.52: Air Drop
Nara is entitled to plenty of respect but Air Drop (nap) could run them ragged from the front and she will take all the beating if allowed to dictate matters dropping down in trip under Jack Kennedy. Enjoy The Dream is another who could run a big race.
Adrian Wall
Kelso
12.07: Luckie Seven
The Navigator has won over course and distance and at Sedgefield in his last two runs and this resurgent nine-year-old is respected in his hat-trick bid. I Am Max is unexposed after only four runs and could be a big factor back over hurdles, while the five-year-old Forged Well and Bois Guillbert also enter the reckoning. However, the vote goes to another lightly raced contender in Luckie Seven (nap), who is unbeaten in two hurdle runs and makes appeal on his handicap debut.
David Moon
Wincanton
1.45: All The Glory
This can go to All The Glory (nap), who did not really enjoy the run of the race when dropped back to 2m at Market Rasen in July and is of strong interest if judged on her emphatic 2m4f win at Newbury in March. Larchmont Lass was only fourth behind the selection at Newbury but she probably still has potential and is feared most. Pretending and Mermaids Cave arrive in prime form and are others to consider.
