Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team . . .

Cheltenham

2.20: Imagine

All the signs look extremely good for Imagine (nap), who is taken to make a successful debut for Harry Derham and will be particularly interesting if the market signals are positive. The ex-Irish 6yo is open to further progress for his new stable and appears very well handicapped on plenty of form, including some good performances against Inothewayurthinkin who created a big impression at major festivals last spring. Ga Law, who holds a solid chance in his bid for a second success in this contest, is next on the shortlist ahead of Ditcheat runners Ginny's Destiny and Il Ridoto, who both hold obvious clalims.

Navan

1.58: Bob Olinger

A good-class renewal with first three from last year in opposition. Bob Olinger (nap) backed that win up afterwards in high-class company and can confirm the form with Zanahiyr and Home By The Lee, the latter who has a big pull in the weights. Jetara comes here in excellent form and could prove a danger to all off a light weight, while Dawn Rising returns to hurdles after a strong Flat campaign and adds further interest.

Newcastle

3.15: Dubai Honour

The very classy Dubai Honour (nap) is presumably using this as a prep for a trip to Hong Kong next month but it was a similar story when he readily landed an AW Listed event at Kempton in the spring. A Group 1 penalty makes life a bit harder this time but he still has the potential to be too good at this level. You can pretty much set your clock by Tyrrhenian Sea on AW but he hasn't been seen since February so it could be that the chief threat comes from Peace Man, who placed in Group 3 and Listed events at Newmarket last month.

Uttoxeter

3.03: Cawthorne Cracker

This can go to Cawthorne Cracker (nap), who has shown significant improvement since his wind op in September and might still be ahead of his mark. El Vigaro ran very well behind an unexposed stablemate of the selection over C&D a fortnight ago and is second choice, while pretty good cases can also be made for Rock On Tommy, Ez Tiger and Garitsa Bay.

Wetherby

2.45: Oslo

Several of these have questions to answer, with Glory And Fortune and N'Golo hard to assess with confidence and Coup De Coeur returning from an absence following a poor run. A change of scenery may revive Rewired but much the safest option looks to be Oslo (nap), not beaten far on the AW last time and with optimum conditions for his return to hurdling. Recent Kelso scorer Old Gregorian is second choice.

Wolverhampton

8.30: Star Time

Alan King's Star Time (nap) stands out as an unexposed sort in this line-up and he can make a winning handicap debut. Eagle's Realm did well at a similar time last year and rates a danger after his back-to-form second at Southwell a fortnight ago. It would also come as no surprise to see Tortured Soul leave his recent efforts behind now back on AW.
