Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's six meetings

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team . . .

Ascot

3.15: Law Of Supply

The lightly raced point winner Law Of Supply impressed on last month's chase debut at Worcester and can defy a 10lb rise. Regarde won going away at Kempton on his reappearance and is feared most ahead of point winner Ideal Des Bordes, who makes his chase debut. Morfee is an interesting contender now back chasing for his second start of the season.

Catterick

1.50: Duke Of Luckley

Several have possiblities but the vote goes to Duke Of Luckley, who was as good as ever when making all at Southwell last month and is a big player again on this step back up in trip. Dream Jet also hit a personal best with his win at Hexham two weeks ago and he's feared most, ahead of the resurgent 8yo Peejaybee. Others to keep an eye on are Ribeye and chase debutant Mount Gallion.

Chepstow

2.50: Cooleenymore

Eceparti won here when fresh last autumn and can play a major role but there might still be more to come over fences from Cooleenymore, who ran well for a long way at Stratford three weeks ago and has hopefully taken some benefit from that outing. Fern Hill plummeted down the weights during a very bad spell in the first half of this year but will be far too good for this field if back in good form after his break. Haas Boy also gets a mention.

Dundalk

6.30: Aeon's Aegis

A son of Kingman, Juddmonte's Purview holds an Irish Derby entry and has to be respected, but Aeon's Aegis finished fourth in a hot 7f maiden here on his debut and should take all the beating with the cobwebs blown away. What's Your Game was very strong in the betting when sixth at the Curragh last month, while Habari is respected given his connections. Debutant March To The Band is not discounted.

Newcastle

6.15: Fahrenheit Seven

Topweight Fahrenheit Seven looks the type to do well on the all-weather this autumn/winter and is first choice ahead of Evocative Spark, who may have more to offer for his current yard. \bBrummell\p holds a great chance provided he's as effective back up in trip, while a couple of the others have respectable claims.

12.47: Sceptred Isle

An interesting little race. Handsworth has had a long break but is of obvious interest off this mark. Boston Bongo has to be respected if able to run to the level she showed at Limerick in the spring. After the progress she showed on the Flat this year, Sceptred Isle could hardly be better handicapped and she really should win this.
