Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's seven meetings

Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team . . .

Ayr

2.20: Caldwell

Rickety Gate (second choice) went well fresh to win over hurdles three weeks ago and he remains on a workable mark. Adveram and Lewa House are two others worth considering  but Caldwell makes appeal having been a ready winner on soft ground on his recent chase debut.

Galway

2.35: Dollerina

Though Dollerina didn't repeat the form of her Group race 2yo exploits in two starts earlier this term, she may have benefitted from a freshening up and this looks a good opportunity for her. Her stablemate Whisper A Prayer plus Ina Mina look her main dangers.

Leicester

2.05: Zadkiel

Stepping up to 7f looks sure to suit the well-bred Zadkiel who ran his best race yet on heavy ground here last time out. Laurens Dream was unlucky not to finish closer at Yarmouth and can reverse those placings with Unex Friendly.

Newcastle

4.10: Laudable

Having split subsequent scorers in a course-and-distance event two weeks ago, Laudable holds particularly strong claims and could well reverse Ayr placings with Annandale who isn't completely certain to back up that form. Sharp Distinction, with Silvestre De Sousa booked, is the suggested second choice behind the selection.

Redcar

3.40: Thunder Roar

Debora's Dream should have more to come but the ground is likely to be borderline for him with rain about, whereas the softer it gets the better for Thunder Roar who lost nothing in defeat at Doncaster on Saturday. This is a quick turnaround but he has a solid chance if in the same form two days later. Second choice is Revich who is having a difficult year but has shaped as though he retains ability and is weighted to go well. Titian is next on the list.

Southwell

7.00: Darlo Pride

The return to Tapeta will suit Three Beauz if a wind operation has done the job, while Whiskey Priest is on a handy mark in first-time blinkers. Darlo Pride makes most appeal off his last winning mark, though, having offered much more when hitting traffic over 6f here last time.

Wexford

2.45: Depalma

Fitter for his fair run in a Galway handicap, Depalma can take this ordinary contest. One Big Boum has the rating to go close if he can sort out his jumping while Stoneyford Lady would take beating if she could recapture the form shown on debut at Naas in January. Expect better from Callmedusty on his first start for Cian Collins.
