Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's nine meetings

Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Catterick

3.05: Robert D'Ores

If Be The Difference can repeat the tactics that were employed here last time he would be the one to beat but the other riders are unlikely to let him get so far clear this time and preference is for ROBERT D'ORES (nap), whose Hexham win was boosted by the runner-up winning at Wetherby on Friday. Wincanton winner Jongleur d'Etoiles is another to consider.

Cheltenham

1.30: Broadway Boy

On the back of a very solid effort in a major handicap, BROADWAY BOY (nap) looks set to defy top weight and register a fourth Cheltenham success. Our Power, who ran creditably here last month, is feared most.

Exeter

3.20: Joe Cotton

Toronet (second choice) can be dangerous off his current mark if a wind op aids a return to form on his stable debut and is one to watch closing in the betting but there might still be more to come from JOE COTTON (nap) over fences. Jeremy Scott's seven-year-old found Boys Of Wexford too strong at Fontwell in November but is 5lb better here and was a wide-margin course-and-distance winner on his latest visit to Exeter.

Fairyhouse

12.10: Magic Boum

With doubts surrounding the classy Aurora Vega after being pulled-up last time, a chance is taken on the inexperienced MAGIC BOUM (nap) to improve enough from her Navan maiden win last time.

Fakenham

1.25: Barra Blue

There was an excuse for Malago Rose at Ludlow last time and she remains of interest on her second start for Neil Mulholland. However, there was definite improvement from BARRA BLUE (nap) at Leicester and she is taken to back that up with another win. Lady Harriett (due to run yesterday) is also considered.

Musselburgh

2.55: Rickety Gate

You Some Girl remains in good form as it was a farcical race in which she ran fourth last time. She's second choice, but RICKETY GATE (nap) was given too much to do last time at Doncaster and he's reunited with Conor Rabbitt who has been aboard for his last three wins. Prince Of Perth is preferred of the remainder.

Newcastle

5.10: King Of The Jungle

Show Me Show Me, Doon The Glen and Papa Don't Preach all come into the reckoning but KING OF THE JUNGLE (nap) bumped into a progressive rival at Southwell on Saturday and can record a third course-and-distance win.

Southwell

3.24: Motazzen

This can go to the progressive MOTAZZEN (nap), who has scored at Fontwell in his last two starts and escapes a penalty for his game win over a clear second on Boxing Day. The unexposed Soldier's Leap was a promising second behind the selection three weeks ago and he's feared most ahead of last month's Leicester runner-up Nedzor. Hope Hill looks interesting back at this trip after a break, while another to keep an eye on is the handicap newcomer Jack Hoola.

Tramore

12.30: Diamond Nora

Local trainer Declan Queally has his team in fine form and DIAMOND NORA (nap) could be another one here, her Limerick win having been well franked since. Cases can also be made for the likes of Dark Note, Rockbrook and Belle The Lioness.
