Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's four meetings

Saturday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Doncaster

2.37: Stans The Man

Top of the list is Stans The Man, who made it third-time lucky over fences forging clear in blinkers at Exeter two weeks ago. A 5lb rise for that success looks fair and he's open to more progress in this sphere. The main threat could come from another unexposed chaser in Finn Lough, who has finished a close second in his last two runs. The other one on the shortlist is the lightly raced 9yo Red Nika, who was only just caught at Chepstow on his recent return.

1.20: A Dream To Share

Plenty of nice prospects here, none more so than A Dream To Share who won a cracking renewal of the Champion Bumper in 2023 before following up at the Punchestown festival and he could be hard to beat if he's anywhere near that sort of level. Ballygunner Castle has made a promising start to his career and the same can be said for both Sommesky and Ballybow who are unbeaten under rules.

Newbury

3.00: Kandoo Kid

Paul Nicholls has enjoyed plenty of success in this race, having won it twice as a rider and three times as a trainer, and his Kandoo Kid could well add to the tally. The selection brings lots of positives and the new trip looks worth exploring. Colonel Harry, a very similar type to last year's winner, is second choice ahead of Victtorino who is interesting on his reappearance. The rematch between respected contenders Senior Chief and Broadway Boy could go either way. A few others also have possibilities.

3.20: Some Scope

Having had wind surgery since his disappointing reappearance at Cheltenham, Some Scope is taken to bounce back with a win. He enjoyed a progressive novice campaign last season and this 6yo could still have more to offer. Kinondo Kwetu was also pulled up in that same Cheltenham race but that may not be his track and he was in fine form previously. He is feared most but there are several other dangers, including Blackjack Magic, Neon Moon, Bowtogreatness, The Changing Man and Donny Boy.
