Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Friday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team . . .

Ballinrobe

4.00: Caman Eileen

This can go the way of Caman Eileen, who wasn't right at Roscommon last month but the quick turnaround suggests it wasn't anything serious and there was plenty to like about her previous effort on hurdle debut on this sort of ground. Consistent bumper performer Arctic Piper might give her most to think about if she finds any improvement over obstacles.

Chester

3.20: Thornaby Pearl

This will be a stiffer test of B Associates's credentials than his claiming race win on Monday and he could probably do with the ground drying out too. Run This Way and Glendown (second choice) can feature prominently but the return to slower ground could be the catalyst for Thornaby Pearl to resume winning ways. He's well handicapped again now and recent Ripon runs have been encouraging.

Doncaster

5.55: South Parade

Plenty of these come here in good form and big runs from Protest Rally, Crypto Quest, Cluedo, Strong Johnson and Paddy's Day seem likely. Fantasy Master (second choice) ran well at York on Sunday and can go close back at 5f but South Parade is readily preferred. Richard Fahey's filly has found a surge of improvement the last twice, proving she hadn't been flattered by her Thirsk win when only run out of it late on at Newcastle three weeks ago. She did best of the prominent racers on that occasion and could take some pegging back today. Her rider's 5lb claim is an added bonus.

Salisbury

6.35: Capote's Dream

Underfoot conditions will be important here as Tiriac will be hard to beat if it's slow and the thriving Strike would prefer it to be drying out. Snuggle can go well if ridden prominently but Bishop's Crown and Capote's Dream may be the pair to focus on. The latter went close at Newbury last week, is 2lb well in as a result and represents a stable in fine form.

Sandown

3.40: Corriamo

Bintabuha (second choice) ran in a good race last time and she's appealing on her nursery debut with Brandon Wilkie's claim easing her burden, while Laplander could also be seen in a new light now handicapping. However, Corriamo has managed to win both his nurseries despite still showing signs of inexperience and he's more than ready for today's stiffer test of stamina.
