Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Wednesday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team . . .

Kempton

7.15: Aulis

With the visor retained, AULIS (nap) is taken to build on his very solid Southwell success and follow up. Palace Green, who looks interesting back down in class and returned to Kempton, is second choice ahead of Ludo's Landing who scored over course and distance last time.

Nottingham

5.20: Marching Mac

The key horse is MARCHING MAC (nap), who won by eight lengths at Brighton eight days ago and is now just 2lb higher. There has been another run in between, making four already this month, but the chance is taken that the edge has not been taken off him by those exertions. Mehmo, contrastingly, has not raced since May but he was a soft-ground course-and-distance winner in April and may be the one to capitalise if the selection runs out of steam. Sounds Of Spring served up a poor display eight days ago but was first and second in the mud prior to that.

Punchestown

1.50: Cappucino

Having looked an improved horse when making a winning return in a Listowel bumper recently, CAPPUCINO (nap) can get off the mark over hurdles on third start in this sphere. The Mediator has had plenty of chances in maiden hurdles and might fall short again. Colonel Nelson is of interest and is worth a check in the market.

Wetherby

4.00: Allmankind

Fitness is the key here with only one of the six having had a recent run. Last season's winner Whizz Kid and the progressive Tintintin should go well if fully wound up but it could be worth siding with ALLMANKIND (nap), who ran a sound race at Market Rasen last month after a long break.

Worcester

5.10: Double Powerful

Handicap newcomers Horsesomeharry (second choice) and Rehill Relic are of definite interest upped in distance, especially if strong in the market. However, it's difficult to get away from the rapidly progressive DOUBLE POWERFUL (nap) for his in-form stable. The consistent Robber's Bridge is also likely to play his part.
