Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team . . .

Bath

3.28: Albus Anne

The mare Albus Anne made it 3-5 at Bath with two C&D wins this autumn and she was a good third at Windsor most recently. She can regain the winning thread now back here. Ciotog won in good style over C&D recently and is a standout danger under a 5lb penalty, while Genta has shaped as though he could improve for the step up in trip on today's handicap debut. Chelmsford

8.30: Imitate

No Surrender did well to finish as close as he did at Newcastle last time in a race not run to suit those held up (Knockbrex not far behind in sixth), and is respected off the same mark, but this can go to the well-related Imitate, who took a forward step on her recent AW debut and promises to be suited by tonight's longer trip. There's not much to choose between Tribal Wisdom and Rocket Warrior on revised terms from Wolverhampton 12 days ago. Graham Wheldon

Newcastle

3.45: Chemical Warfare

Having been turned over a couple of times, David Pipe found two Sedgefield races to get Chemical Warfare back on track and this third successive northern foray can result in a hat-trick. Jimli's Island is the most obvious danger and is expected to give the selection the most to do, while Ribeye might prove best of the remainder. Jonathan Doidge

Southwell

6.15: Noodle Mission

A warm race in which the unexposed 3yos Harvard Sound and Lattaash are sure to be popular. Hat-trick-seekers How Impressive and It Just Takes Time also come right into the reckoning, but Noodle Mission has been a revelation for his new yard this season and he still looks well treated on the form of his C&D win in August. His latest defeat came on unsuitably slow ground and he can resume his progress back on Tapeta with a top apprentice taking off a useful 3lb. Silver Samurai is fully exposed but he's talented and may prove next best. Paul Smith

Stratford

3.05: Penna Rossa

A gamble was foiled when Penna Rossa was beaten a neck on his stable debut three weeks ago but this looks an opportunity for consolation. Atreides is still a maiden but was second last time out and looks to be the main danger. Others to consider include front-running Zhang Fei who should appreciate this sharp track and Juggernaut who is lightly raced and may still have more to offer. Andrew Bladen
