Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team . . .
Hereford
2.40: Current Mood
Evan Williams could hold the key as Current Mood was good value for her narrow success at Ludlow, while Honey I'm Good will appreciate this return to further after finding 2m5f too sharp a test around Fakenham last week.
Alistair Jones
Kempton
2.57: Siempre Arturo
A warm and competitive handicap as it should be. Last year's runner-up Andaleep makes the shortlist, as do Ludo's Landing, True Courage and the lightly raced 5yo The Glen Rovers. God Of Fire can pose a threat if maintaining his fine run of form on debut for another new yard, but Siempre Arturo may yet prove better than his mark having taken his strike-rate to 6-11 when just getting up to win a qualifier over C&D last month. He has a wide draw, but defied the same stall here last time.
David Bellingham
Plumpton
3.05: Yellow Star
Onemorefortheroad (second choice) ought to give this a good shot from the front, while Forever William is now 2lb lower than when winning this race for a different stable last year. However, Yellow Star was placed in a very competitive 2m handicap at the end of last season and, following an encouraging reappearance run, he gets the vote on his first attempt at this longer trip.
Chris Wilson
Southwell
7.45: Prince Of Bel Lir
The unexposed Formby could take a step forward now handicapping, while Carlton And Co (second choice) has been in good order and Kodi Red comes here on the back of a recent win. Prince Of Bel Lir makes plenty of appeal though, with his latest second at Wolverhampton suggesting he was primed to strike.
Paul Smith
Wolverhampton
4.30: Dillydingdillydong
Albert Lasker (second choice) brings very solid credentials to the table in his bid for a breakthrough victory, but Dillydingdillydong is thriving under the expert tutelage of James Owen and is taken to bag a third success with this step up in trip a likely positive too. In-form veterans Uther Pendragon and The Resdev Way are both a long time without a win but need factoring in too.
