Nap of the day: best horse racing tips for the day's five meetings
Monday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team . . .
Brighton
4.40: Fighting Poet
Being an in-form contender who may have more to offer on turf, Fighting Poet appears capable of defying a small rise in the weights for his C&D win. The 3yos Innisfree Pearl (second choice) and Daidalos are interesting, while the same comment applies to Fen Tiger and Big Jimbo granted slow ground.
Steve Boow
Galway
4.30: The Wallpark
This race revolves around Fakir d'Oudairies. He is a class act over fences and he gets weight from the top two here. However, he has needed his last couple of outings after similar breaks, he is tongue tied for the first time and he hasn't run over hurdles since 2019. French Dynamite is another useful sort over fences but he's hard to fancy on his most recent efforts. The Wallpark looks the most solid option, even though he has to give weight to his rivals. He's in top form, he won a big pot at this track last time out and there could be more to come from him.
Dave Stephens
Newton Abbot
4.25: Call Blue
Last year's winner Saddlers Quest defends her crown from a workable mark and is respected but preference is for Call Blue, who returned from a long absence with a very creditable run in defeat at Stratford last month.
Chris Wilson
Perth
5.22: Bullion Boss
This is not as competitive as the numbers suggest and it's hard to look past Nicky Richards' hat-trick seeking Bullion Boss who arrives at the top of his game and is taken to make light of a 4lb weights rise. In-form maidens Lady Mendoza (second choice) and Blended Stealth can have a say along with Worcester scorer Iron Heart, while it would come as no surprise to see Gordon Elliott's Gino Drummer take a step forward on his handicap debut.
Peter Entwistle
Wolverhampton
7.00: Chalk Mountain
Ultramarine should make another bold bid back on AW, but this looks a lively race for the grade with three of the seven runners having scored last week. Surprise Picture is in deeper today and this may rest between Roaring Ralph and Chalk Mountain. Clear preference is for Stuart Kittow's representative who was comfortably on top at Southwell six days ago.
