Kempton Placepot picks: Tom Segal attempts to crack the guaranteed £150,000 pot
Tom Segal with his idea of how to win a Boxing Day bonanza
A case can be made for everything in the opening novice handicap chase (12.45) as punters begin the search for answers to Kempton's £150,000 guaranteed pool.
But Es Perfecto has an experience edge over most of his rivals and Leader In The Park is much better than he showed on his chase debut at Cheltenham last month.
The Jukebox Man looked good on his chase debut at Newbury and is the one to beat in the Kauto Star Novices' Chase (1.20), but he is likely to be overbet, given that there wasn't much between him and Masaccio last time.
The latter stayed on well after the last and will appreciate the step up to 3m just as much as the favourite, so represents better Placepot value.
If ever Constitution Hill is going to be beaten over hurdles it will be in the Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle (1.55) at Kempton because he's clearly not had a smooth preparation.
He's been off for a year and has to give 7lb to Lossiemouth, so he will have to be at his very best to beat her and it makes sense to bank on Willie Mullins' brilliant mare.
It's possible to make cases for several in the King George (2.30). However, Cheltenham Festival winner Corbetts Cross looks a strong Irish contender, as is Banbridge, who looks ready for 3m now with drying ground very much in his favour.
The maiden hurdle doesn't appear to have that much strength in depth, so it's probably best left to Nicky Henderson's Kientzheim, who showed a good level of form in France, while her stablemate Doddiethegreat is nicely handicapped on the pick of his hurdles form in the concluding handicap hurdle (3.40).
He didn't take to fences on his reappearance, so has questions to answer and, as a result, the consistent Samuel Spade goes in as well.
