'I expect him to ride a double at the very least' - David Jennings answers the big questions ahead of Friday's action

What's the big story?

Cambridgeshire day eve has a pair of Group 2s, a Group 3 and a Listed race and they will all be live on ITV3. If you're tight for time on a frenetic Friday at work, perhaps the Rockfel Stakes (3.00) is the one you should sneak away to see as it contains a filly of serious potential in the form of Formal

She is two from two but it hasn't necessarily been the races she has won which makes her so fascinating, more the manner in which she won them.

You could easily double the winning distance at Leicester, such was her superiority, and her debut win at Newbury oozed class.

She takes on talented Ballydoyle filly Bubbling, but she will have her work cut out to take down Formal, who is a 20-1 shot for next year's 1,000 Guineas.

The Joel Stakes (3.35) looks tricky, who wins it?

Poker Face holds all the aces here.

At the time of typing all six runners are priced between 7-2 and 7-1, which is hard to believe, but it might be a shade more straightforward than that as Poker Face is building up to a big performance. I fancy him to reverse Goodwood form with Ice Max, while his recent Leopardstown effort can be upgraded. Conditions are ideal, and I'm sure you'll see him in a better light.

And, what about the Princess Royal Stakes (2.25)?

Anything could win this, and even Sinology at 33-1 has some sort of a squeak, but Place Of Safety is an unexposed three-year-old who we surely haven't seen the best of yet. She should benefit from her recent second in a Listed race and will do for me, but don't go mad.

What's the best piece of punting advice?

Keep Kieran Shoemark on your side all day long at Newmarket. He has three rides and all of them could actually win. I expect him to ride a double at the very least.
