'She's the best handicapped horse in Britain or Ireland' - David Jennings answers the burning questions on a big day at Cheltenham
What's the big story?
One of the hottest handicaps of the whole jumps season is down for decision.
The Unibet Greatwood Hurdle (3.30) can turn handicappers into Grade 1 horses. Rooster Booster won it, as did Sizing Europe, Khyber Kim and Menorah. Is there another one of those lurking in this year's line-up? The unbeaten Dysart Enos, perhaps?
It's also day two of the Navan Racing Festival where the prestigious Bar One Racing Troytown Chase (2.30) takes centre stage. The unpredictable, but talented, American Mike is favourite for that, one of 11 runners in the race for Gordon Elliott.
So, who wins the Unibet Greatwood Hurdle?
I've been quoted on the record quite a few times saying Dysart Enos is the best handicapped horse in either Britain or Ireland, and I stand by that statement.
The only thing that could catch her out is inexperience, especially in such a big field, but she has the potential to make a mockery of her mark of 131 if the first half of the race goes smoothly. She's a weapon and has the potential to be the best horse Fergal O'Brien has trained, male or female.
What's the bet of the day?
Dysart Enos. Please see above.
What is the lay of the day?
Maybe I'm mad, but I'm going to take on Matata and Calico in the 2m handicap chase (2.20) with Gunsight Ridge, who still looks to be a well-handicapped animal to me.
Any outsiders catch the eye?
He's not what you would call an outsider as such, but 9-1 seems a crazy price about Country Park in the opening 2m½f maiden hurdle (1.10).
It doesn't look a strong race for the track and he was beaten by a very good horse at Carlisle last time. If he can jump reasonably well, something which has been an issue of late, he must have a big chance.
Oh, and don't forget Perceval Legallois in the Bar One Racing Troytown Chase (2.30) at Navan. This could be his big day and he's 12-1. Don't give up on him yet.
