'He won't even need to be at his best to win this' - Harry Wilson returns with his fancies for every race on ITV on Saturday
Harry Wilson is back with his advice for all nine races live on ITV from Haydock, Ascot and Punchestown on Saturday. . .
1.15 Haydock
Betfair Racing Podcasts Handicap Hurdle, 2m3f
Harry's tip: Punta Del Este
Punta Del Este ran much better than I expected on his reappearance at Carlisle three weeks ago, given that was the quickest ground he had encountered in a while and all of his improvement last season came on a very testing surface. He ran right up to his best that day, beaten just three-quarters of a length having not seen a lot of daylight when challenging, and is sure to step forward from it, as he did last season. The rain should put conditions right in his favour and his career-best performance came when romping home by 21 lengths over course and distance.
1.30 Ascot
Copybet 1965 Chase (Grade 2), 2m5f
Harry's tip: Pic D'Orhy
With most of the field having lots to find on ratings and Dashel Drasher not sure to be suited by dropping in trip back over fences, it's hard to envisage anyone posing Pic D'Orhy a serious threat. He won this race by 16 lengths last year and won't need to be at his best to take this running.
1.50 Haydock
Betfair Exchange Graduation Chase, 2m5f
Harry's tip: Iroko
It was such a shame that Iroko missed so much of last season with an injury, as he looked one to follow after winning decisively on his chasing debut at Warwick. The form of his second in the Grade 1 Mildmay Novices' Chase at Aintree in April looks solid, given Heart Wood (third) has since beaten Corbetts Cross in a Listed event and Chianti Classico (fourth) has lumped 12st to victory at Ascot. He rates a good option in this field, with plenty looking likely to need this reappearance and Trelawne's tendency to jump right.
2.10 Punchestown
Unibet Morgiana Hurdle (Grade 1), 2m½f
Harry's tip: State Man
Lossiemouth and Brighterdaysahead are talented mares armed with a 7lb allowance, but they still have to step up on everything they've achieved to get near State Man. Lossiemouth's highest RPR is 156, which came over 2m4f (her highest over 2m is 151), and Brighterdaysahead's best is 155, while State Man hasn't produced anything below 160 since his novice days, including twice recording 165s in winning this race for the last two seasons.
2.30 Haydock
Betfair Stayers' Handicap Hurdle, 3m½f
Harry's tip: Kerryhill
Kerryhill comfortably won a Grade 2 at Doncaster when last seen and has considerable potential now entering handicaps. His two wins came on flat and left-handed courses, with a good run at Cheltenham in between, so he should be suited by this track, while Ruth Jefferson's horses tend to go well fresh and this one won first time out last season.
2.45 Ascot
Howden Ascot Hurdle (Grade 2), 2m3½f
Harry's tip: Lucky Place
Lucky Place is bottom of the pack on official ratings, but he is still largely unexposed and looks worth another go at this level, having bumped into the highly regarded Gidleigh Park in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham in January. He went down by just three-quarters of a length to subsequent Cheltenham Festival winner Golden Ace, who he meets on 10lb better terms here, and was a respectable fourth in the Coral Cup when Nicky Henderson's string wasn't firing. He looks the pick at the prices.

3.05 Haydock
Betfair Chase (Grade 1), 3m1½f
Harry's tip: Grey Dawning
Grey Dawning emphatically saw off Gaillard Du Mesnil in the graduation chase on this card 12 months ago and gave Grade 1-winning hurdler Apple Away 10lb and a 14-length beating in a Grade 2 novice chase at Warwick before landing the Turners Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. He looks sure to improve for returning to three miles, having looked outpaced in the Manifesto at Aintree when last seen, and any rain that falls is in his favour.
3.20 Ascot
Lay & Wheeler Hurst Park Handicap Chase, 2m1f
Harry's tip: Sans Bruit
Sans Bruit jumped brilliantly from the front when winning at Aintree's Grand National meeting in April and a repeat of that will make him very hard to beat. He gave it a good shot from the front in the Haldon Gold Cup three weeks ago, just giving best to proven Graded performers JPR One and Djelo, and, like many of Paul Nicholls' runners this season, he's sure to take a big step forward from that reappearance. This race is weaker than last time and if he settles well in front, he could be hard to beat.
3.40 Haydock
Best Odds On The Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase, 3m1½f
Harry's tip: My Silver Lining
It's very easy to excuse My Silver Lining's effort at Wincanton last month, given it was her reappearance and on ground that would've been far too quick for her, and she should take a big step forward from it. She was progressive last season, following her Classic Chase success with placed efforts in the Grand National Trial here and the Midlands National. She's 1lb lower than for that latest effort and will appreciate every drop of rain that falls.
