Haydock Placepot picks: Paul Kealy's perm for the £50k guaranteed pool

They will be racing in a bog at Haydock, which will be different conditions to what Yabher won on last month, but he's a half-brother to mudlark Al Mubhir and looks likely to be long odds-on for the opener (1.45). He's probably a Placepot banker in a weak race.

It isn't easy to rule anything in or out in the first nursery (2.20). Reddeef showed his best form in his only run on soft and goes in along with Lovely Spirit, who has been fairly progressive.

Another nursery follows (2.55) and recent heavy-ground winner Nebrook Dream has be included, while Station X didn't have much go his way on soft ground last time but still ran well.

It's always dangerous banking on sprinters at the best of times, but Trilby handles bad ground and has been running well in much better races than the 5f handicap (3.30), so a chance is taken.

In the fifth (4.05), Admiral D could be about to bounce back to form. He showed some promise at this track on his belated return in August but has been poor since, albeit on much faster ground. 

He wants some cut and the last time he raced on heavy ground he was a close third off 4lb higher at Ayr around a year ago. Woven won really well on this track two starts ago and is the back-up.

Nine go in the final heat (4.40) and I'm happy to bank on On The River, who has form on bad ground.
